Personal Statement
Growing up in Ethiopia, I remember playing soccer every chance I had. Even if I wasn’t playing the game, I was practicing dribbling and bouncing. When I was 11, I was adopted and came to South Dakota. Living in a small town which did not have soccer, I transitioned into football. I have always loved sports and besides football, also participate in basketball, track, baseball and golf. I have excelled in football kicking and even kicked my 8th grade year for the South Dakota Miners where they nicknamed me "Mr. Weapon". I am self-motivated and very competitive; I would love to work on my kicking ability with the right training and practice.
I have worked hard to improve my skills on the playing field and maintain my school work as I did not speak English when I came to the United States. I have always been a team player and encourager to others. I love to teach younger kids the sports that I love to play.
I am excited to be able to play on a college level as I know I can be an asset to my team.
