Cale Bryant '23 Recruiting Profile

In my family, we can be defined as a team. We work together to make opportunities for each one of us to be successful. My personal philosophies have developed and will continue to grow from my own experiences and support from my family. I am the youngest of three boys. Playing sports and spending time outside has been our life since I can remember. I began playing sports when I was 4 years old. Before I began playing I spent the majority of my time on a field or at the gym with my brothers and parents. Both of my parents have played sports and currently coach sports. Around the time I was 8, I began riding horses. I was able to learn new skills that contributed to my qualities as well as my sports and academics. During my sports career I have played multiple sports and I continue to play football and basketball. My passion for sports has grown over the last several years. 

My work ethic and commitment can be seen both in a sport and in the classroom. I work hard to maintain my grades while participating in sports. The commitment and responsibility that is needed to play a sport is something that I have been taught and that I have learned from my own experiences. Both of my parents created an environment that taught my brothers and I about being committed and working hard on our goals. Also, my coaches and horse trainer taught me about responsibilities as a student athlete. Because of the commitment of my parents and coaches over my time as an athlete I believe that I am prepared for the next level. 

There are many qualities that I can bring with me that will benefit me in my future endeavors. I am a team player. I enjoy working with my fellow players and coaches during the season and out of season.  I understand that commitment, responsibility, flexibility, and knowledge are important factors for successful student athletes. I show flexibility by working and adjusting schedules to make sure that my school work is complete while I am preparing for my sport. I am also flexible with changes my teachers or coaches need to make. Understanding that positions and playing time are earned pieces in playing sports helps me with being responsible, committed, and flexible on and off the field. The knowledge that I bring to the table comes from both practical experience and learning experience. I take the time to read and watch videos to better understand the game while taking the information that a coach gives me to utilize both on the field or court. 

In the future, my goal is to attend a university that offers an academically sound base. I want to be able to accomplish my academic goals so I will be prepared for the workforce or additional school if needed. I am interested in a sports program whose goals are similar to mine. I would like to be able to grow as a player both physically and through gaining knowledge. I am interested in a school that supports its athletes academically but also provides them with learning experiences that will improve their skills and game play.
