Cody Wendt '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cody Wendt I am currently a senior at Sullivan East High School in Bluff City Tn. I have been a starter on varsity for 3 years, primarily as a Punter but I also double as a Place Kicker for my team the Patriots. This has been a very successful season and I have helped earn 40 of the 340 points this year for my team. Recently I set a new school record for longest field goal, which now stands at 37 yards. During the 2014 season I landed two great punts on the left 1-yard line during a single game, I also won two punting competitions during summer 2013 & 2014 punting camps; both were punt out competitions landing between 2 &1-yard line. I have made 37 of 43 PAT's during my senior season; longest punt of this season is 50 yards with five other games having punts of 40-47 yards.

Academically my plan is to earn a degree in Engineering; CAD classes have been a great inspiration and interest for me. My most important attribute is that I am a team player that is dedicated, hardworking, and completely committed to learning and playing both on and off the field. I believe one of the things that make me different from other recruits is that even though I am only seventeen I have already conquered adversity in life! I am dyslexic and though my road has been long, it has been rewarding and affirming which only helps me focus more every day.
