Personal Statement

I am currently a sophomore at Brentwood High School (BHS), in Brentwood Tennessee, graduating in 2020. BHS is ranked #5 in the State of Tennessee, in public schools, and ranked #1 in Williamson County Tennessee. BHS plays at 6A, the largest class in the state, I am the starting safety on the varsity Football team.

In 2016, my freshman year, BHS made it to the state semifinals, I was pulled up to the varsity program.

In 2017, my sophomore year, BHS went 10-2 and region 6A runners up, our final playoff game loosing to the state runner up, Cane Ridge. BHS had 36 seniors, for the 2017 season, I split time at safety with a senior. I also started all 12 games on special teams. My season totaling; 13 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 6 assists, 4 pass break-ups and 1 interception at saftey.

I am a multi-sport athlete, playing basketball and running track (100, 4x100 and 4x200). I knew at 8 years old that football would by my sport and this year decided to focus on football and track.

The biggest influence in my life is my Dad, Jeff bergholtz, who played Football at WKU, Western Kentucky University, in the 1980's. My Dad has a masters in Physiology and has overseen my training and helped me to train with former D1 college players. I am also very fortunate to have a great coaching staff at BHS with Ron Crawford, and his staff of former college players.

My life goal is to play football at the highest level while receiving the best education possible. I want to continue to develop my character and intelligence and coming along side of a dedicated coaching staff that can help me develop my full potential to become the best man I can be. My academic goal is to obtain a B.S. in Business and Computer Technology, while obtaining a 3.5 GPA.

The game of football has taught me that hard work transfers to all areas of my life, how to compete and accomplish goals and how to work with a group of men and accomplish these things together. To overcome obstacles and that goals are obtainable if I work relentlessly to improve. It's given me a work ethic and drive that I can use in all areas of my life.

Athletically, I have the right makeup and commitment to develop into a high caliber player. I've always been moldable, teachable and have carried a strong desire to lead on and off the field. My family along with my coaches have always stressed character. I believe I have the right focus and discipline it takes to be a part of a program striving for success.

Thank you for your Consideration.
