Personal Statement
When I started playing youth football at five years old, I had no idea how long I would want to play. At one point, I told my parents that I did not want to play in middle school. I did make the decision to continue into middle school and now as my freshman season is behind me and I look ahead to my remaining years in high school, I am 100% committed to playing the sport I love. I have a dream of playing football at the next level, and I am doing everything in my power to make that dream a reality. I feel that I am a versatile player having played almost every position at one point in my career. I do have to face and overcome obstacles everyday that many others don't have to face. One of those obstacles I face everyday is my diet. I have several food allergies including dairy, chocolate, chicken, shrimp, pork, strawberries, celery, oranges, and egg. This makes it difficult to take in the additional natural proteins available in those foods. This is something I have faced since I was young. I try to compensate by working extra hard in the weight room and searching for foods that I can have that are higher in protein. My goal is to become the best student athlete I can be. To be completely transparent, I have not dedicated myself in the classroom as I should have. As my senior year is coming to a close and I begin to look ahead to my future, I am doing better in the classroom and have a better understanding as to where my grades need to be to even be able to compete at the next level. I have recently taken the ACT twice, scoring a 19 on my first attempt, and a 21 on my second. On my third attempt, I scored a 26. I continue to work hard in the weight room every day and update my information on the NCSA site as often as possible. My goal is to become better both on the field and in the classroom and to make my teammates better EVERY SINGLE DAY!
