Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Dalton Widner.  I am 17 years old and a Junior at Gibbs High School.  I am currently 6’3.5 275lbs.  I play C/DL on the Varsity Football Team at Gibbs High School.  My Junior season I was named to the 1st Team All Region 2-5A.  My sophomore season I was named to the 2nd Team All Region 2-5A.  In the 2014 season, I was named Gibbs Freshman Lineman of the Year.  Fall of 2013 I was invited to play in the 2014 O-D Youth All-American Bowl in Orlando.  I recently received my first scholarship offers from the Naval Academy, UNC Charlotte, ETSU, Eastern Kentucky, Coastal Carolina and Samford.  I couldn’t be more honored.  After much prayer and consideration I have decided to commit to UNC Charlotte.  They have the degree of my dreams and it feels like home.
