Personal Statement
I started playing sports at the age of three. When I was in first grade, I joined the Goodlettsville Trojans Pee Wee football team. Football stuck out to me and became my favorite sport right away. It helped me learn the value of hard work, discipline and perseverance. I was diagnosed with ADHD at six years old and struggled with academics, speech and vision difficulties, and bullying. Thanks to my parents and using football to channel my energy and frustration, I overcame those struggles to be the person I am today.
As a junior I achieved the starting varsity left tackle position for the Beech High School Buccaneers. The fire was lit inside me to succeed and to play at a higher level to win even more than ever. After speaking to my parents about my goals, sought out a private lineman coach and joined National Playmakers Academy (NPA) to help refine my football skills to help me perform for my high school team. Plus, my vision is to one day be recruited for a college football team. Last summer, I attended Football University's Top Gun Showcase in Naples in July where I got a taste of all the talent and competition out there. I became even more determined to put in the work to achieve my goal. After the 2020 football season ended, I continued training in the off season with Leverage Lineman and NPA with competition football and spring camps to help me stay competitive and further develop my skills to be ready for summer camps and my senior year.
After a lot of thought and consideration for my goals and my future aspirations, I made the decision to join the IMG Academy Varsity football team for the Fall 2021 season. Their successful program has challenged me further and preparing me for the collegiate athletic and academic level. I am grateful to have been given this opportunity. We are currently 9-0 and 1 win away from playing in the SSIA Florida State Championship game.
To compete at the college level, I'm looking for a program that will challenge me to not only be the best at my position, but to contribute to the success of the team as a whole. My focus in life is to sacrifice and work hard for the things I want. Success is within the grasp of those who are willing to do what it takes, and I am that person who wants more in life and is willing to sacrifice to get there. I am also focused on my academics and finding a career in mechanical engineering or a sports related career that I will enjoy and be able to give back to others who like me had a dream and a passion for life and their goals. If you are looking for a player who can balance both, is coachable and will give you all they got and more, I am that player.
