Personal Statement
My name is Max Huffine, I play football at Pope John Paul II High School in Hendersonville, TN. My main position is Center, but I can play anywhere on the Offensive Line. I am really proud to say that I am this versatile so I can help my team in any way I can. With being able to know the whole scheme for the offense, I help the other lineman before games and during games to correctly complete their assignments. I am most proud that my coaches trust me and consider me a leader on the team. I push all my teammates to get better everyday so we all know that there was nothing else we could do to change the outcome of the season, thus leaving us with no regret. I have played sports since I was 4 years old- beginning with Baseball and then growing into Football in middle school. Both have taught me so much about who I am and I am grateful for the gift of playing both.
I have maintained a 3.5+ GPA while being a 3 sport athlete during my time as a high school student (I added Wrestling for one year). I take the academic part of high school seriously, and am thankful to my coaches for making this a priority. They have also been a huge part of helping me develop as a man. They continue to instill in us that there is more to life than football. We strive to be great young men first and great football players second. I believe being able to compete at the highest level possible not only on the football field, but also in the classroom as well as being driven to be the best human being I can achieve is what being a student athlete is all about. I look so forward to being able to continue to do this in college, so that I can also encourage others to be the best they can. Thank you for taking time to learn more about me.
