Personal Statement
I am very passionate about hard work, people, football, and my relationship with God. The most important thing in my life is my relationship with my creator God. I am all about the team and am well suited to train hard, listen well, and execute my role on the team. I could be a great addition to your team as I have been leading the state of Tennessee in tackles for my senior season. I would love to come out for your team, hit some people hard, and play alongside other great athletes. Having played football since I was in third grade, I have learned many life lessons from the game of football.
One of the important lessons I have learned from playing football is how to be a part of a team. I love being a part of a team atmosphere, seeing where everyone fits and thrives best. I have been a part of some very successful teams and have also played for some that did not do as well. One thing all teams have in common are leaders. People look for someone to follow and a leader can influence positively or negatively on and off the field. I have had the privilege of being one of those leaders on my team and have learned to lead both on and off the field by the way I live my everyday life. Leading requires depth of character, strength, humility, and serving others. Leading may mean being the last man out of the locker room and making sure everything has been picked up and put away or it may mean rallying the defense to execute a play in a game. I would much rather lead by action and example than by empty words. One thing I have noticed from leading by action is that hard work pays off and character matters. Intentionality in self-discipline and training is important. Having played football for over half my life, I have learned that no matter the score and no matter the circumstance, you never give up. If you never give up, your team will never give up. You have to fight until the very last whistle.
