Personal Statement
Since the age of four years old football has been my passion. I was a kid with big dreams, big ambitions, and big commitments. The men in my life gave me universal tools of strength, aggression, power, and perseverance. I still use these tools today on and off the field. Although smaller than my competitors, I have never let my height serve an excuse. I have never seen it as a disadvantage. instead it s a part of my platform and what sets me apart from average players. When reporters, commentators and coaches discuss me they compare me to Darren Sproles and Saquon Barkley and use adjectives such as Scatback, The Diminutive One, Daytona 500, and The Future. While these are great accolades, I am most proud of being known as the player with the biggest heart. Let's face it, anyone can have talent, but without the right heart, talent rarely gets you to your greatest potential. Having heart keeps me focused, keeps me out of trouble, and keeps me a living example for others to follow.
Being smaller than most players on the field, has never been a true disadvantage for me. When my opponents play against me, they quickly realize my height doesn't effect my talents. And because they underestimate me, I easily put them to shame. I am known in the track arena as the 2019 60 meter dash AAU champion and All American, my speed and shiftiness is the reason why I'm one of the best players on the field. My goals is to be able to play on the next level to prove short guys can do it too.
Off the field I take my academics seriously. I have programmed my mind to see my grades as paychecks. The harder I work, the more hours I put in, the greater the reward. That has made education come natural to me and is the biggest drive behind my 3.6 / 4.0 GPA. When choosing my jobs, I have selected positions that challenge me mentally and physically and is in line with who I truly am. For the past year I have served as a certified lifeguard with the YMCA.
I am the athlete that takes pride in everything I do. I am the athlete coaches love to brag about. I am the athlete you will be proud to put your stamp of approval on.
