Personal Statement

My entire life I have strived to be the best at anything that was worth doing. Football has run through my veins since I was old enough to play the game. The intensity of the game gives me a high that is felt every time I touch the field. The mentality of a football player determines the manner of which he plays on the field. Whether it be on, or off the field, I have a strong work ethic. Being part of the Magnet Program and competing with the top brains challenges me academically. What I have learned about football throughout my life is that there is never an off day. Even after winning two State Championships, the need to reach my goal of playing D1 football is always unrelenting. With my dad being my personal trainer in the gym, we have formed a special bond knowing how to push each other beyond our limits. Currently, being 6'1" and weighing 225, my personal goal is to be 230 and 6'2" by next season. Being a linebacker, I realize that my 40 yard dash needs to be at 4.7 by my senior year to cover the running backs out of the backfield. I don't just want to get a scholarship to play college football, but also an academic scholarship as well. I'm not the type of leader to yell and scream at my teammates, but lead and motivate by example. Of course I get excited on the field when one of my teammates or I make a big play, yet I am delighted to see them feed off my explosion of energy. When playing for you I will give it my all and never give up. My passion for the game and the thrill of success is something that will always be apart of me and will never go away. "My advice to defensive players: Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in a bad humor." - (Bowden Wyatt, Tennessee)
