Personal Statement
Football has always been a major part of my life, but it is something I have always had to earn my part in. I've always been held to a higher academic standard than most by my parents. Even in little league I couldn't participate in practice until I had finished all my school work and done my reading. Now that I'm at the high school level it has become more of a challenge. With an increased amount of work and more intense football training I am glad that I was taught good work habits when I was younger.
On the athletic side of it, I was never really confronted with any real challenge or competition for my spot. I am originally from a much smaller school in north Dallas that isn't very competitive athletically. Moving to Allen High School is one of the best things that has happened because I had to learn very quickly to work hard for my spot. When I first moved to Allen I started on the freshman B team. But by spring of that year I had moved ahead of all 6 freshman running backs that were ahead of me at the start. I spent all of the offseason working as hard as I could because I knew that I wasn't as good as I wanted to be. During my Sophmore Year I suffered a cartilage tear in my right knee which really limited me throughout the season. After surgery in February of 2017 I am still trying to get back to myself. As of the beginning of my Junior season, I am the starting running back on the JV1 team. I am still working hard to get my knee back to 100% so i can continue my football career.
