Personal Statement
A quarterback has to really love the game of football to be great. From making reads, to knowing all of the offensive schemes, a quarterback has to be aware of what is going on every single time the ball is snapped. That is what I love about playing quarterback.
Although all the pressure is on me to do great, I make sure I’m not thinking about that during the game and just run the play. I like to think of the quarterback as the coach on the field. It’s my job to make sure the offense knows exactly what’s going on before every snap. And from there it is my job to execute.
It’s easy for players who want to be quarterbacks to give up and go to another position on the field because of the difficulty of this position. But, I like all the pressure. It reminds me that, not only are people counting on me, but that they believe in me for putting me into those situations. Every season, every game, every possession, every play, is a chance to make something happen, and it’s my job to make sure it gets done.
