The desire to excel in everything I do is truly something that makes me a great addition to any team. This hasn't come easy for me as I have had many disappointments on and off the field. One thing that helped me really understand how to bounce back from adversity was in my sophomore year when my team made it to the first round of the playoffs. This was the first time our school had made it this far in 23 years. Even though we lost, this experience helped me have a sense of pride that made me have a desire to work even harder to go to the next level. The following year everyone counted us out when our Quarterback left and went to play in the #1 college in the nation, but we overcame that as well and made it to the playoffs again. Experiences like these have helped me mature and understand that it is not always about winning. These things have helped develop my Team Leader abilities, my Strong Mind, and the need to be a positive influence on all my teammates.
Having a great family foundation and a mom as a teacher has kept me grounded and focused on my academics as well. College in my household is not an option, it is an expectation. Watching my sister graduate from U of H in 3 years has definitely brought out my competitive nature and makes me know that anything is possible. Becoming a part of a College Football team is a goal I intend to achieve and do my very best to represent all that have helped me become the student athlete I am today.
When I walk on a college campus I want the coaches to know that I am not just a big guy that can play many different sports. I am a very kind natured, well rounded, intelligent individual that may not talk a lot but will definitely prove my worth on and off the field. My parents always told me that Actions speak louder than words so leave it all on the field and that is exactly what I do.
