Isaiah Shamoun '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Isaiah Shamoun. I am 5'11"  and weigh 165 lbs.  I am varsity starting quarterback and I also spot play on defense as a defensive back at W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.  I have a 3.3 unweighted GPA and a 4.1 weighted GPA. I am currently ranked 36/400 which is top 9%.  I am in the rigorous International Baccalaureate Programme. I run a 4.7 40 yard dash, bench 215 lbs, squat 335 lbs, and power clean 210 lbs. I have played football since I was six years old, and have been in love ever since. It is a dream of mine to play in college, and my parents and I are working hard on making that dream become a reality. I have played all positions throughout my football career, but in high school have only played defensive back and quarterback. As a freshman I was on the freshman team playing DB.  As a sophomore I played on the JV team as a QB and DB. As a junior I played only DB on varsity. As a senior I am starting QB.

I didn't have much experience at the quarterback position in high school, but my coaches felt it would be best for the team if I was the quarterback due to my athleticism, and football knowledge.  I was not born with great natural athleticism, however, I understood what is necessary to be the athlete I want to be. I am a product of the countless hours during the off-season I have spent to better myself as a football player. I am willing to play any position in college.

I enjoy math and physics and wish to study either engineering or computer science. I would like to attend a school with strong academic programs, especially in those subjects. Thank you for recruiting me, and I promise that any coach who gives me a chance will not be making a mistake.
