Personal Statement
My ultimate collegiate goal is to achieve my highest academic and athletic potential as a member of a community that encourages me to do my best in every aspect of my life. I would like to study history and classics, business and economics, politics and international affairs, as well as music. I hope to play football and/or wrestle in college; and since I am also a drummer, I would like to play in a a musical ensemble.
Ever since I began playing youth sports, my coaches have told me that I am very "coachable" and that I am a strong leader. I am anxious to bring my coachability and my leadership skills to a team where I can give 110% every day to my teammates and my coaches. In addition, I am able to learn new techniques quickly and efficiently. When my family moved to Australia for three years, I played rugby and became a State Representative Player in my first season. My rugby skills have translated well to the football field.
Most importantly, I want to be part of a supportive community and I want to give back to that community. I hope to be surrounded by coaches, teammates, classmates, friends and parents who encourage me to be my best, and I want to encourage other members of that community to be their best. I am eager to participate in youth programs that will allow me to give back to the larger community through coaching athletics or tutoring academics.
