Personal Statement
Somebody once told me in order to sell a pencil you must first have a great pencil and second, you must convince your potential buyer that they need your particular pencil. Well, I believe I am not only a good pencil, but I am a mechanical pencil at that. I also believe your track program needs just such a pencil.
First, I believe I am a well rounded student athlete. Not only do I throw discus and shot put, I am also a long snapper and offensive linemen for my varsity football team that finished 8th in state.
Second, my GPA is 4.92 and I my class rank is 71st out of 866 students. My SAT is 640 math and 690 reading for an SAT score of 1330.
Finally, I realize the chance of a high school athlete to compete at the college level is very remote. Because of this, I must admit, academics is a very, very high priority of mine. I want to eventually become a veterinarian like my dad so I am looking for a college with either a veterinary program or a prevet program.
In closing, I can’t wait to show why your program could use my “mechanical pencil” and all of its capabilities.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
