Growing up with blue-collar parents really had an impact on my view of work ethic and what it takes to be successful. I began playing football in just the 3rd grade, and right then and there, I fell in love with the sport. I also grew up playing basketball, not only for the school, but even competing nationally on a select team. My collegiate goals are to go to the right school that will benefit me the most, both educationally and athletically. I plan to get an engineering degree and contribute to a football team. I am very unselfish and enthusiastic. I am a natural leader, always attempting to get players in the weight room and put in the work necessary for success. One obstacle made me the leader I am. My sophomore year of high school, I started as an outside linebacker on varsity. However, I would tear a ligament in my shoulder and had to have surgery, sitting out the entire year. This made me realize that I would fall behind everyone else, motivating me to do what was necessary for me to regain everything I had lost.
I am not worried about how many minutes I get, or how many points I score or how many tackles I make. To me, the team's success is always put before my personal goals. I get extremely excited to see my teammates do great things. I am a very ambitious person. You could also say that I am a gym rat. I am the guy to get kicked out of the weight room at 9 o'clock at night when the coaches are locking up. All in all, football has impacted my life in such a way, that playing at the next level is a must, and I will do whatever it takes to achieve this.
