My name is Jessie and football is all I have to get me through school. I will be the first in my family to attend college. I started playing football from the age of 12 and as I began to practice/play, I realized I was already behind. Once I attended middle school I began to wonder if I should continue playing football as I wasn't sure at that point if I really liked it.
As I signed up and signed my commitment letter I promised myself to give it all I got. I worked day and night until I got the starting linebacker position. I held my position up until I got to high school. As I got to the 9th grade I dove into high school football with the same work ethics and desire I had when I first started playing. By the time spring football rolled around, I had worked my way into the role of backup running back, with a starting position of linebacker. Now as a sophomore I start on both positions.
Something my videos don't show is how hard I'm willing to work to get to the next level. I work just as hard in school as I do in football. I maintain a 3.0 GPA in High School. As I go through this journey I would like to find a great school that offers an academic and football program that best fits my career goals.
On the field, I plan to be a dynamic player and a positive influence on my team. As I grow both physically and mentally throughout my college football career, I will strive to be a great asset on the field. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the field, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects on my team, my coaches and the school I attend.
