Participating in sports has always been an important part of my life. I realized early in life that team sports allowed me to excel and reach my full potential. My first experience in youth sports actually began at our local YMCA where I was in Karate/Martial Arts and Basketball. My team football experience began when I was around 7-years-old with the League City Panthers.
I played for the Panthers for five consecutive years starting as a freshmen through two senior years. I also played select tournament football with the Galveston County Seahawks to gain more experience playing outside our district through the state of Texas and in Louisiana. During these years, I also played baseball for the League City Little League until I aged out in the Pony division.
When I started intermediate school, I participated in baseball, track and field, basketball, and football. I was lucky to have some great coaches over the years that recognized my strengths and further developed my skills as a running back. My skills were also enhanced through my speed training in track and field. For my freshman year in high school, I played football, basketball and ran track. I considered football as my primary sport and during my sophomore year. I now focus primarily playing running back and running track.
Beginning the summer before my freshman year, I began attending college football camps. My goal was to learn how college coaches train along with what they look for in a prospective athlete. Being competitive by nature, I thrived in the camp skill drills. I consider myself a leader on and off the field and work hard to inspire and mentor younger players. My goal is to become a teammate and person that others will see in a positive light.
As I plan ahead to my college/university experience, I look forward to the opportunity to follow my academic interests and pursue a degree in Psychology/Sociology. I believe this major will prepare me for a career that will help people. As a football player, I commit to being a positive influence on the team and carry myself in a way that honors and respects my team, the coaches, and the university I attend.
