Personal Statement
I believe I possess potential significant upside in the coming years as a football player and as a student athlete. Our family living overseas between my 3rd grade and 10th grade years doing humanitarian work in the Middle East. Though less opportunities existed for quality coaching, I played football, baseball, soccer, and ran long distance. I have a love for football. I've always been a hard worker, and even in the limited academic and sports opportunities overseas. This past year, my junior year, was my first time in a US high school football setting, where I received high quality coaching and player development. While overseas, I did help develop a startup recreation type of football league in Jordan. There I played QB, then transitioned to WR/TE/K/P during my junior year, after moving to the US.
I want to continuously develop into a smart player that knows his role well on a larger team, and takes all feedback gracefully with a sincere desire to learn and improve as a player and a student athlete. I am an eager learner and have taken on whatever position I was ask to fill by my coaches. Regarding my strength and conditioning, I have only been lifting seriously for about the last 1-1/2 years, unlike some of my current teammates in the US, but I am the highest lifting receiver we have by far. I believe there is great room for improvement here as well. I love to spend time in the gym as a new found passion. My current goals are to add on some more mass and to be around 220 pounds, benching 225, and to be squatting over 3 plates. I believe that I can achieve these goals working at the pace I am currently working, and in fact, I should be able to exceed these current goals with a determined work effort.
