12/4/12 At our football banquet tonight.....I made 1st Team All-District, (in one of the toughest districts in the state). I was also named Academic All District, was our team Defensive Lineman of the Year and led the team in sacks. 11/24/12 Our second round of the playoffs was unfortunately my last high school football game ever. We played Trinity High School and we came up a couple of touchdowns short. I was going up against a guy who had at least 100 pounds on me, but I still got 5 tackles and several assists. 11/16/12 Our first playoff game was against Killeen High School. We dominated them on both fronts of the ball. I had a good game with a sack and 5 or 6 tackles. 11/9/12 We played Desoto, (ranked anywhere from #1 to #3 in the NATION.) We were up 23-22 with about 8 minutes left in the game... A few bad breaks and we fell short 37-23. Still a very respectable game and a big confidence booster before going into the playoffs next Friday. I had a good game, with at least 10 tackles and a sack. 11/2/12 This week we beat Cedar Hill 27-20 to secure our spot in the playoffs. I had 9 tackles, several of those behind the line of scrimmage. One of my key stops was on a 3rd and goal near the end of the game that limited them to a field goal. I received defensive linemen of the week for the 6th time this year. 10/26/12 We played Grand Prairie and beat them with ease. I blocked a field goal, had 2 tackles and many assists. Again this week I was in the quarterback's face all night which led to him throwing 2 interceptions. I was also a key player in blocking a punt. 10/19/12 This week we played Duncanville and defeated them easily. I had 2 tackles and a sack and put heavy pressure on the quarterback all night. 10/12/12 Our opponent this week was Midlothian, who was previously undefeated. We ended their win streak and are now 1-2 in district. I didn't have many individual stats this week but am proud to say that they could not run to the outside on my side. 9/28/12 This week we played Mansfield Timberveiw, and I had another good game. I had 3 sacks and 5 tackles. I have been named defensive lineman of the week for 4 of the past 5 weeks. 9/21/12 This week we played South Grand Prairie. I had an excellent game, recording 2 sacks, 7 tackles, and 2 tipped passes. My coach informed me that I am one of the leading tacklers at my position in the district. Sept 14, 2012 - I didnt have alot of individual stats this week, but benefitted the team by shutting down my side of the field for a good part of the game. We beat a cross- town rival 63-22. September 7, 2012-We won 35-0 and held them to about 100 yds. of total offense. Two games into the season, I am one of the leading tacklers and have been named defensive lineman of the week for two weeks in a row.
August 31, 2012- I had an excellent first game. I had several solo tackles and assisted my team on special teams.
My immediate goal is to have an outstanding Senior season and to help lead my team to the playoffs and then hopefully to the state championship. I want to attend and play football at a college that is competitive in both football and in the classroom. My long term goal is to be a high school football coach and teacher. One of my goals as a coach is to help my boys be well prepared, strong players who love the game and the competition it offers. I think a career as a coach would be fulfilling and would enable me to be a good provider for my future wife and children.
