Joshua Coltrin '19 Recruiting Profile

As a football player, my greatest attribute is that I am a WINNER!  My teams have lost only a single game combined the last two seasons, and that loss was in the Texas 5A state championship game (49-53 to Dallas Highland Park).  As you can see on my film, I am a threat both running and passing.  I can be successful and effective in various types of offenses, and am particularly adept at decision-making on RPOs and read/option plays.  Last season as a junior, I had a 79% completion percentage and a QB Rating of 113.  

My resilience particularly stands out from my peers.  I was a late bloomer, entering high school at 5’ 4” and 125#.  Furthermore, I broke my ankle in the last game of my freshman season.  Persistence, hard work and the grace of God has transformed me into a 6’ 3” and 190# athlete, and I am still developing.  Recently, I was timed under 4.7 seconds in the 40 yard dash, and am running track this spring to further improve my speed (Manvel HS is the defending Texas 5A state champion in track and field). 

I am also a strong student, and recently scored a 35 on the ACT.  I anticipate getting a bachelor's of science degree in engineering.
