My name is Koby Couron. Presently, I am 6'3" and I weigh 240 lbs. I recently clocked a 4.83 40 time at TCU's camp last June. I am a 2013 recruit prospect from Nederland High School in Nederland Texas. I am a multiple sport athlete (football, basketball, baseball), but my true passion is the game of football. I consider myself a complete team player, who will give my all every practice and every play. I have a strong work ethic and I am well liked by my teammates. My 3.82 GPA demonstrates I take my classroom work seriously. I would like to study engineering and mathematics in college.
I just completed my second varsity season as a junior, and I feel I had a good year. I was excited to learn I was voted by the coaches as a two time All-District player, and a Academic All-District Player. I was also chosen as a team captain for 2 of our 12 games. Recently, I have settled in at DE and TE on varsity. Prior to varsity I have played QB, RB, LB, DE and TE. I also play on special teams.
I really don't have any particular college as a first preference. My choice of schools must have an engineering program or a strong mathematics department. I have not fully decided on my major at this time. More than likely, I will either be an engineer of some sort or a math teacher/professor and coach. I feel I will narrow down the field when college begins or shortly thereafter.
I am willing to consider any college, so long as it meets the above criteria. I am capable of adapting to most situations. I would like to stay within driving distance(500 miles) from my home town, if possible, so my parents could have an opportunity to come and watch our team play. My family is a big part of my life and my father coached youth sports for over 25 years.
In my spare time I love to hunt and fish every chance my schedule will allow. I also enjoy spending time with my friends. My schedule is quite full, while playing 3 sports and continuing to work on my speed, strength, and weight, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I truly look forward to playing college football someday.
If you are looking for an athlete, who is a total team player and will make big plays, than I will be a great fit to your team. Not to mention, I will work hard in the classroom and on the field. You will not have to worry about motivating me. Thank you for your time and consideration.
