My name is Brody Kelso, and I'm a Sr. in high school, I truly believe I have what it takes to succeed in college in the classroom and on the field.
My college goals include earning at least a Bachelor's degree. I plan to be be on the Dean's List and graduate with honors from college and possibly go on to get an advanced degree. I also plan to play college football, hopefully at the D1 level, but if not, I plan to be a part of a successful program.
What makes me different from others? I know I can fail, but that's just an opportunity to learn, regroup, and try again. I have the freedom to do that because my family supports me. I strive to honor God above all else. I am active in my church and the Fellowship of Christian athletes. I am raised with two parents who are educators. They've always taught me that I can learn more from listening than speaking. I am adaptable to situations and flexible to my role, no matter what.
I handle pressure well, I am hard worker and willing to go above and beyond what is average. My dad and my two uncles are coaches. I have grown up from the earliest times I can remember in the field house. I've watched others work. I've seen guys with a ton of talent not work hard. I've seen guys with not so much talent but a lot of drive work themselves into success. I am always going to do more because that's what it takes to reach the highest levels.
I strive to be a leader in my actions, not just in my words. That's been instilled in me my whole life. Most importantly I let my actions do the talking. I work hard in school and on the field, weight room, or track. I am a team builder--I am positive and encouraging.
I am committed to education and my parents have taught me that education is the great equalizer. My Dad is a coach and teacher. My Mom was a teacher and is now in administration and works with special needs kids. I come from a family of educators and I know how important education--both formal school and skills outside of school--can be. No matter what, you have the ability to learn and grow and be successful.
I thrive in competition. I love game days. It's an opportunity to get out there and do what I do best. But I know games aren't won on game days, they're won before that with preparation. I am reaching the the next level and working hard to get there.
