I grew up in a family where my father, uncles and brother played collegiate football, all were Defensive Backs. One uncle played in the NFL for 7 years. Since I was 3 years old I have been drawn to football. I started playing organized sports at 5 years old (football, basketball, baseball and track). I soon realized that football was my passion.
My high school varsity career began as a Sophomore starting as Cornerback in which I received All District Sophomore Defensive Player of the Year. As a Junior I was selected to the All District Team. I’m currently working to broaden my defensive back exposure by moving to a starting Safety position for this upcoming Senior season. At this position I will continue to utilize my ball skills and physical style of play.
Playing this game I’ve learned important values that I will take with me throughout my life (respect, discipline, patience and persistence). It’s a great feeling to come together with your team to achieve a common goal.
Playing at the collegiate level will provide me the opportunity to earn a degree while doing what I love. With this degree I would like to pursue a coaching career. I would like to mentor and pass on the values I learned while playing sports.
