Personal Statement
Multi-sport athlete with the desire help my teams compete at a high level and continue a life in sports as a future football coach and athletic director. I plan to work hard and do everything in my power to be the best student-athlete that I can be, help my teams win, and after collage be the best coach – teacher that I can be.
I have always loved sports. One of my earliest memories watching my father coach pee-wee football when I much too young to play. I remember wanting to get the ball in my hands and make the defense miss as I ran down the field to score. Since then, I have play 10 seasons of football, 3 seasons of baseball, 2 seasons of basket ball, and 4 years of track and field.
I work hard each and every day, with a great desire to be the best that I can possibly be.
Growing up on a ranch in East Texas, I contribute my work ethic to my late grandfather.
He had me out cutting firewood, building fence, and taking care of the land and live-stock. There was always so much to do and I learned that if you want something, you have to put in the extra work in order to get it. My grandfather was looking forward to watching me play high-school football, but sadly he passed away before my 8th grade season. I thought about him when my offense took the field and I got the ball on the first play of the season. I took the pitch ran to the edge where I was met by many on the defense, I lowered my shoulder, hit, spun off and raced 63 yards down the field.
I will never forget that moment.
With a new found dedication to my academic scores, I plan to work just as hard in the class room as I do on the football field. I expect this hard work to be reflected as my grades and GPA will increase over my Junior and Senior years.
