Personal Statement
My name is Josh Sparkman. I am a 6'0, 180 pound junior. I have been a standout kicker since sixth grade. I have always had a strong passion for kicking. My farthest kick in a game is forty-seven yards. In practice or gameday I kick at least one fifty yarder to make sure I am completely warmed up. My dream has always been playing college football. I believe that I have the abilities to accomplish my dream. One of my strongest characteristics is that I am extremely self disciplined and motivated. If I set my mind to something, I will not give up until I accomplish it. I strongly believe that if you are not getting better, you are getting worse. Whenever I get tired I always ask myself how I want to be remembered, and that pushes me to be all that I can be. I constantly push myselft to increase my athletic ability. I always pick up my teammates and challenge them to push even harder. I consider myself to be a fantastic team player. I play for the name on the front of my jersey, not the one on the back. My team is my family and I would do anything to improve our talent. However, I am also very dedicated to academics. None of this would be possible without it. Grades have been important to me my whole life. I currently have a 3.7 GPA. I believe a medium or large school would fit me best. I would also like to attend a school in or near a larger city. When my football career comes to an end, I would like to have a job in the medical field. I am very interested in sports medicine.
