Personal Statement
Playing sports, specifically the sport of football has taught me three basic things. . First, its taught me how to use adversity to accelerate my growth. Once you understand how to do this, it becomes a competitive advantage for you both on and off the field. . Second, it's taught me that everyone needs a coach, as great coaches make you have conversations you don't want to have, do things you don't want to do in order to become something you didn't think you could become. Lastly, it's taught me how to be a part of something bigger than myself. I believe that when two or three gather for a common cause anything is possible.
I desire to have that same experience in college. I want to find those coaches that can continue to have an impact on who I want to become. While a student at Siegel High School, I have been involved in Honors Classes, Community Service, and DECA Competition. I have pushed myself in the weight room, off season and during the season to become a starter in my junior year. I was selected by my coaches as Defensive Lineman of the Year. During that season, my coaches needed me to play out of position and I did. That was what was best for the team. I'm excited about moving to my true position, Middle Linebacker and leading my team next year.
Grit is what separates me from others. I love the grind and I believe it shows in the way I play and the energy I bring to practice every single day.
