Football has been a part of my life ever since I was born. My family has always been involved in collegiate football. My grandpa coached at many schools and my uncles have all played at the collegiate level. I have played since I was 8 years old and I know how committed one must be to be successful to play football. I played 7 years on a club team throughout elementary and middle school. I started on the sophomore team, and as a Junior I started on the Varsity team playing offensive center and long snap. I was a captain of the offensive line, and in one game I was chosen to lead the team. I also wrestled for 3 years, and took 3rd in North End Region my 9th grade year. I also participate in track and field events to get stronger, and stay in shape for football.
While I strive on the field to get better, I also strive to get better in the classroom. I have maintained a 3.95 GPA throughout high school. School is extremely important to me and my family. I must maintain a high GPA and it is my first priority. I am vigilant in my studies and always stay current on my homework. I am part of the AP program, and I take Honors classes whenever I can. I believe that winning on the field starts with your attitude in the classroom.
I maintain leadership on my team by leading by example, and helping our team turn around. My team has been struggling over the past several years. New coaches, bad influences, and little desire to play have been hurting us greatly. However, these struggles have shown me how much a team needs to come together as a family. Through our team’s trials I have learned to be dedicated, determined and have strengthened my work ethic.
I hope to go to a college where I can continue to play football, as well as, get an excellent education and continue my academic prowess. I am very open to every educational and athletic opportunity wherever it takes me, and I am looking forward to being a part of something new.
