As a boy I competed in basketball and baseball, but I was drawn to football. I was captivated by the spirit of the game, the work that players dedicated to practice, the contest of will on game day, and all of the off-season preparation. I wanted it. I wanted to develop the mental and physical toughness that I saw developing in the student-athletes that I watched and emulated while attending practice with my dad. While I have physical talents that allow me to play the game at a high level, I appreciate and respect the mental part of the game. I love that football is a balance of brute strength, intelligence, and grace. In addition to the qualities that are evident on film, I’ve worked hard to develop a tactical understanding of the game and to develop leadership skills that I know will be valuable at the next level.
