Personal Statement

December 1, 2011
Hi, My name is Dalton D. Cole and my team just just completed our dream of winning the State Championship game in Utah and we also went UNDEFEATED this season with 14 wins and zero losses.  A perfect undefeated season.  Logan High has not been undefeated since 1978.

I'm starting Left Tackle at  Logan High School in Logan, Utah representing the Class of 2012.  I also just found out that I was selected OLine MVP for our region, All State First Team, OLine at the Salt Lake Tribune and All State First Team, OLine at the Deseret News.

Our offense is explosive to say the least. Stats don't lie: 274.7 Average Yards Passing per game. 152.6 Yards Rushing per game. 43.6 Points per game (as per maxpreps.).  Our quarterback is getting lots of headlines which means.........he must have a really good Offensive Line. This season, I'm full time at Left Tackle and am getting to see some play time on the defensive side of the ball too.

I'm currently 6' 4" 250 pounds. I spent the month of June in football camps and our head coach hooked us up with a new conditioning program with Dr. Matt Rhea called RaceRX. It was definitely a new challenge and the team is in great shape.

I've been playing football as long as I can remember and was always one of the tallest on the team and have been placed on the O & D lines since I was a kid. I started on the D-line full time as a freshman and then as a sophomore,  I played both O and D line full time. As a junior I played RT full time as a starter and earned recognition as First Team All Region and I've been full-time Left Tackle my senior season.

I've was invited and competed in a Lineman Challenge at UNLV in March 2011 with top lineman from bigger schools from the western states.

Based on reviews from game film, I am very reliable and competed well against many defenders were taller and/or  heavier than I. My instinct, percentages & efficiency are exceptional and I'm not done growing and learning. I'm a good learner and listener and appreciate my coaches and counselor who are some of the best motivators I've ever known. I have bery good relationships with my family and my coaches and my counselor.

have worked hard to improve and be an even better version of me each and every game....each and every day.  I've always wanted to play college ball and am taking steps to help this dream come true.

My last semester GPA was 3.476  and my current Cumulative GPA is 2.456. My March ACT score is 22 and I took the ACT again in June of this year and scored another 22.   Logan High has excellent guidance and helps me focus on my school work. I know what it takes to keep my grades up and my progress and improvements each year is evident.

I've been striving to succeed on and off the field and am proud of my accomplishments and improvements. My coach encourages us to always work on maturity and discipline. I'm aware of the hard work and dedication and persistence it takes to play at a college level, and plan on continued progress each and every day.

My first preference would be to go to college in the western or midwestern states but I would not be opposed to consider other regions. I'm am open to any type of school whether it be big or small.

I am considering a degree in Education Counseling but am also considering other fields since I'm good with technology and good with my hands.

My goal is to play college ball. I'd be honored to be invited and considered to play at any level and am hoping my natural abilities to succeed in football will help me get a college degree.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
Respectfully, Dalton D. Cole
