Personal Statement

My name is James King. I am a current Senoir attending Pulaski County High School in Dublin VA. I am 6'4" 210 pounds, with a 4.8 40 time. My current maxes are a 365 bench press, 560 squat, and 290 power clean. I have played football since the 1st grade and have been a starter every year. I have also participated in wrestling , track and AAU basketball during my middle school years. My real passion is football and am currently concentrating all of my efforts toward that sport. I was a first team starter during my 2010- 2012  seasons at defensive end and offensive tackle/guard , playing mainly defense during the second half of the season. Also playing Linebacker some games during my senoir year. In the 2012 season I made 1st team all district, 1st team all Region, 1st team all Timesland, Defensive Lineman of the year, and hopefully 1st team, all state. My Junior year I made AA All River Ridge District first team this year(2011) , 2nd team AA  All Region Div.4 in Virginia and AA All State Underclassman honorable mention in Virginia. I was also first team all-district and honorable mention all-region my sophomore year(2010). I believe I have an excellent work ethic. I really enjoy lifting and conditoning with my team mates. My athletic goals are to play college football and hopefully proceed to the next level. I enjoy my class work and currently have a 3.65 GPA. My favorite classes are math and science. I realize academics are the main priority for being successful in life and this is why I work hard in the class room as well as on the football field. I enjoy hunting and fishing with my family and being outdoors. I am really undecided as to the career I want to pursue , but am leaning toward business finance. I think I would be an asset to a college football program as I am dedicated and work very hard. I am working hard at improving athletically and academically over my next 1 1/2 years in high school. Playing college football and getting a quality education are my main goals in life right now , and any consideration will be greatly appreciated.

Please email me at [email protected] to request 2012 highlights. I can send them directly to you on Hudl.
