Personal Statement

I feel that I am a good candidate because I am coach-able and always looking for room to get better. I have a competitive drive to win in life and always ask questions to learn new things. I have an ambition to become the best and most dominant player on the field. My goals is to push and prepare myself for college to be successful and to help me achieve my career opportunities. The dedication in me wants to inspire and have a big impact for my future in college. I want to make it to college so I can motivate my brother and sisters to work hard so they can get far in life. Football was always a big part in my life since i was 6. I went through a lot and I am going to continue to endure and work constantly for my passion in football as well as school.

  • Recruit Phoebus - Dalon Dixon Phoebus WR Dalon Dixon (Photo: Mike Caudill/recruit757) CPAC Report: WR Dalon Dixon has worked himself to the top of the depth chart at Phoebus by Brandon Mitchell, recruit757 Over the last handful of years at Phoebus, talent has truly come at a premium for the Phantoms coaching staff. Careful concern has been placed on how the Phantoms evaluate their running backs because the running game is the foundation of what Phoebus likes to do. Daniel Wright, Jaylen White, and Daequan Fleming were true work horses in the backfield for the Phantoms last season. A year before that, Fleming and Wright got most of the dirty work done for the Phantoms in a ground game that was preceded by Jomari Becnel and Tray Hamlin. Not much emphasis has been placed on the receiving core by most opposing defenses even with the likes of Barry Hargraves and Andre Jackson coming through over the last few seasons. There hasn’t been much height to come through at the wide receiver position for Coach Blunt that he could actually use despite Barry and Andre holding above average stature. However, that could all change heading into next season. A name starting to gain clout at the wide receiver position heading into next season is Dalon Dixon (2019 WR 6-2 198). The rising senior has patiently waited his turn in the Phantoms system and is slated to start opposite of Barry Hargraves headed into next season. Dixon was an active participant at the recruit757 CPAC which allowed him to give us an early glimpse of what’s in store for the Peninsula District. “I came out here so I can improve my skills and get better by going up against other people. I’m getting the chance to learn so much by going up against various groups of people,” Dixon stated. Dixon is a little bit of a late bloomer when it comes to the game of football. He arrived to the Phantoms football program as a sophomore and grabbed a hold of a reserved role for the last two seasons. The Phoebus product has continued to remain dedicated to the football field by working out by himself and attending a few camps thus far during the off-season. Despite not seeing the field much last season, Dixon took it all as a learning process and has been able to transform into a prospect worth noting. “Not playing much last season made me want to try harder. It made me believe I was better than people that last year I may not have believed I was,” Dixon said. Phoebus starting quarterback had some solid targets to throw to last season, but best believe that the size and skill set of Dixon will help revolutionize what the Phantoms have at wide receiver this season. – Brandon Mitchell
