Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Aaron Aponte. I play for Louisa County High School in Mineral, Virginia. I plan to further my career playing football at a school where I can not only grow as a person and an athlete, but assist the team in accomplishing its goals. I have played football for the past 10 years of my life. I played JV my freshman year and practiced with Varsity. My sophomore year I was full time varsity and even played a good amount at tight end, linebacker, and on special teams. We made it all the way to the state championship that year, where we fell short. That taught me the commitment, determination, and drive it takes to be elite. My junior year I became a team captain and helped lead us to our second straight undefeated regular season. Unfortunately, we lost in the last four seconds to Eastern View. That left a giant empty hole in me and has me striving for greatness more so than ever. I finished the season with 96 tackles, 7 sacks, 9 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, 1 safety, and 17 quarterback hits. I received 1st Team All Central Virginia Linebacker, 2nd Team All Region Tight End, Honorable Mention All Region Linebacker, 2nd Team Jefferson District Linebacker, and Honorable Mention Jefferson District Tight End. I am planning to lead us to our first ever state championship. I have always valued hard work and have never had an offseason. I train as much as possible and am willing to do whatever it takes to make it as a college athlete and help my family in paying for college. While football is my life, I have also taken education very seriously. I have a 3.9 GPA and am in the National Honor Society. However, all of my success can be accredited to my amazing family.
