Personal Statement

Most of my childhood it was just my mom and me. My dad was around but he lived a few hours away. My mom worked hard but always made time to keep me involved in sports. At a young age I was introduced to every sport. At 6 years old I played soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter and after school karate and Jijitsu and gymnastics for 2 years. When I was 9 my soccer coach said I should try football since I was so fast and showed natural athletic ability.

During one of my first football practices, I got the wind knocked out of me. My coach later told me most small kids (I was really small back then) who get their first hard hit either quit on the spot or get up and keep going. I kept going.  Ever since I was little, I’ve been shy and introverted, but when I’m on the football field, I'm in my comfort zone, I am confident and feel the most like myself. Sometimes it’s challenging in history class to remember dates and names but give me a playbook and I memorize every detail.

College is a definite plan for me, not just for football but I watched my mom finish her master’s degree when I was 7 and I know a college education will get me where I want to go.  I am a master at completing 1000 piece puzzles, building things in the garage with my step-dad and helping my mom with her furniture flipping business. I see myself possibly going into a career in engineering  and/or working in some capacity with sports and athletes.

This year I started running track for the first time ever and I’m one of the fastest runners on my team.  I run track so I can improve my speed in Football. My dream is to play football in college, I have worked so hard to come this far, I HAVE to play in college! Besides being physically a great player, I have an excellent football IQ. I have the passion, and I want to be a part of something great!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
