Personal Statement
My Name is Ricky T. DeBerry, Jr., i'm a 6'2 217 lbs freshman at St. Christopher School in Richmond Va. I am very diverse inwhich I can play multiple positions. I played tailback this year inwhich I rushed for 7 touchdowns. I played wide receiver in which I caught 65 yard touchdown pass, I played OLB/DE in which i intercepted a ball and returned it for a touchdown, returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown, returned a kick off 95 yards for a touchdown and had 8 sacks. This does not include the number of hurries and tackles that I made. As a Freshman, I assisted my team with reaching the State title game by applying pressure and sacking the teams QB.
I am looking to attend a college that will provide a balance between academics and playing sports. I also want to be able to perform in the classroom and football field at the highest level. I'm hoping to play for a college that knows how to utilize my GOD giving talents to help the team be successful. I would also like to participate in a program that gives back to the community such as working with underpriviledge kids.
I played Varsity basketball this year as a freshman and tried my best to help my school reach the playoffs in which we did. I am not just a football player but a God fearing, phyical, very intense athlete with a high sports IQ who can lead yet remain humble.
