Personal Statement
My name is Javontri but I go by JK, I will be a sophomore at Varina high school in Richmond, VA this Fall 2020. My family background is Hispanic and African American. For me personally it is important to become someone with success and accomplishments because we lack leadership for the up and coming generations. For example, I've not had many positive influences, motivation, great examples of all that can be accomplished. But what I can say is that it only takes one person to set as an example and for me that is my mother. My mother had me at the tender age of 16 and since then she has worked so hard to make my life what it is now. She has given me the tools to be the best that I can be. I've participated in sports since 4 yrs old such as baseball, basketball, and football. By far, I would have to say that football is my favorite. It gives me life to be out on the field. It honestly feels like I'm at a job that I love to do. But with that job, I know it takes hard work, determination, studying, and lots of practice. I am dedicated and am working towards setting the best example for my siblings and to make not only my mother proud but myself proud.
