Personal Statement
my collegiate goals are to become a realtor or a head marketing executive of a big company. i feel like i have great people skills. i can deal and get along with any and all sorts of people. i aspire to be one of the great in my field of study. right now, i already have taken a lot of business classes in high school so far,( personal finance, accounting, and marketing) so i feel like that gives me an edge up on other recruits. i am a people person. i treat people that i care about like my family, even if we aren't blood-related. That is, if you have earned my trust. i seem to always find a way to make people smile or laugh whenever i see that people are having a bad day. ever since i was little, i have been told that i have great leadership qualities. i remember my mom telling me this, and i looked at her in disbelief because i didn't believe it. there has been many times where if i am the first person to start doing something productive with my time, others starts to get focused and join in. that's what i feel like are some of my strengths.
in terms of athletics; i have always loved working out and playing sports. i have played a number of sports throughout my life, including, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and competitive swimming. it wasn't until my freshman year of high-school where i first started my football career. i feel like by being in all of those other sports growing up has really taught me to value the aspect of sportsmanship and teamwork. when something goes wrong on a play or if we have had a not so good first half, i always try to give my teammates advice on what we can do in the second half or in the next play. i always try to be optimistic. finally;I understand and live by the idea that i should be humble in my good days (if we won a game by a lot) but also optimistic in my bad days (if we got shut out, or if our plays weren't working) not only in sports, but in my day-to-day life.
What gives me hope and keeps pushing me to work harder is the fact that i just started playing football 3 years ago, not knowing anything about the sport, now imagine what i could accomplish in another 4 years in college.
