After breaking my foot in the first game of our last season with a year long recovery, I worked hard to make my senior year of football the best it could be. I was the only 3-year starter playing this season and utilized my experience the best I could. I was elected captain at the beginning of the season even though I started out slow with a hamstring injury, but kept increasing with each game. My last game I had 11 tackles, while finishing with the most tackles of anyone on the team. I took a leadership role as the defensive "quarterback," calling the defense based off of the offensive set-up. I have great knowledge of and skill with reading the offense to know what plays they are running. I also am a valuable asset to have on offense as a tight end or slot receiver, but a hamstring injury prevented me from filling that role because the coaches wanted to make sure they had me healthy for defense. When I did play receiver it was in our last game, and I caught both the passes thrown to me although one was diving out of bounds and the other I got nailed after the catch. I work very hard to be prepared and I know I would be a great asset to any team. I am working hard to increase my strength in the weight room everyday.
