Personal Statement
Deciding to play football in 7th grade was probably the most impactful decision I’ve made in my life, whether I realized it at the time or not. At first I played to get my foot in the door socially for Junior High. However, it only took me until the end of my first season to realize how much I loved the sport. My passion for the sport was tested in my first 2 years of high school when I didn’t start, and got very little playing time. It was through these 2 years that I developed a desire to want to win and caused me to work harder to earn the starting spot my junior year. These 2 years both increased my love for the sport and forced me to develop the work ethic that I hope will carry me to the college level.
I believe the wins and losses I’ve experienced over my high school career have prepared me with the skills and knowledge to be able to compete at the next level. Playing at the college level will not only be a dream realized, but like playing junior high football, I believe it will prepare me for success outside of school. I will bring hard-work, dedication, consistency, and leadership to any program willing to give me a chance. I know I have what it takes to be a positive impact both on and off the field.
