Personal Statement

My name is Silas Moreau. I am a high school football player from the class of 2021. I attend O'Dea High School in Seattle, WA. O'Dea has a rich athletic history and has played in the last three state championships and won the State Championship in 2017. This year I am starting at long snapper and have gotten time at center and defensive end. My Sophomore year I started the season on the JV and worked my way onto the field as the starting long snapper. I also played back up center in a few games. The highlight was playing in the state championship game and I am very proud to have been the long snapper on a punt that tied the state record. It was a high pressure situation where we were deep in our own territory. Some of my history and goals:

  • I have been playing football since third grade in the Bellevue WA jr. program including one championship and two second place finishes.
  • Football has taught me the value of hard work and importance of teamwork.
  • I am interested in finding a University where I can get a great education and play football.
  • I believe my teammates and coaches would describe me as uplifting, and dedicated.
  • What makes me unique is my selfless approach on the field.

  • Moreau came over from the state of Washington and was impressive at the Rubio Long Snapping Spring Camp in TX on April 7th, 2019. One of the smoothest Long Snappers in his class, Moreau’s snaps practically land peacefully in the punter’s hands. Really catchable ball that no punter will ever complain about. Starting form is good and is using his body well. Need to see Moreau realize just how good he truly is and snap with that much confidence. Gaining size, strength and snapping the ball as hard as he can will keep Moreau consistently in the .7s at VEGAS XXXIV in May. Very solid day in TX for Moreau.
