Elijah Prout '20 Recruiting Profile

“ Practice like you’ve never won, Play like you’ve never lost”  A quote often heard in my house from the most influential person in my life, my dad.  I feel it brings a deeper meaning that not only applies in football, but also in life. To me, it means that when you put work into something you love, always do it to the best of your ability.  When you get the opportunity to showcase it,  then it's time to prove to the world that you're the best. I like to incorporate my dad’s saying into my daily life and everything I do, especially in academics and athletics.  

My goal is to play college football at the highest level that my attributes allow me to play.  With my awareness, hard hitting and speed, I believe my skills and abilities would assist in bringing a very fast and physical demeanor to any team, creating a nightmare for the opponent to study. To expand even more, my 2017 40 yard dash was measured at 4.6 seconds and my 5-10-15 shuffle at a 4.2 seconds as a sophomore. This of course leaving plenty of room for improving.  My speed and quickness brings a major edge to any defense and allows me to be very flexible as an athlete. My experience playing in multiple defenses has also given me a better understanding of how to dominate any offense.
