Personal Statement
My name is Scott Maki and I am 6’4” and 300 pound offensive and defensive lineman. I am a three sport athlete at La Salle High School in Yakima, Washington. I started on varsity both ways as a sophomore and junior and earned second team all-league as a junior on the offensive line. I earned second team all league honors as a senior on defense, and was also voted as team captain. I love basketball and baseball, but my true passion is football. I started playing when I was eight and have cherished every moment on the field since. My goal for college is to go where I can receive a scholarship for playing football, as well as to receive a quality education and degree to ensure job opportunities for my future. I really want to exceed on the field and in the classroom. I am a good candidate for your team because I really enjoy playing the game of football, and I will work my hardest and do everything I can to be the best and most coachable player possible. Off the field, I think I am a well-rounded person. Along with keeping a 3.5 GPA, I have done community service internationally with my family, as well as doing service locally with my school and youth group. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I would be a great fit for many college teams because of my competitive drive, love for the game, and drive to be the best player possible.
