Personal Statement
One of the biggest influences in my life is my dad. He played college basketball and he said that is was one of the best times in his life. I have always wanted to play college football, I fell in love with the game during my first year of grid kids football. One of the biggest things that I have learned about myself through sports is that I am persistent. I want to be the best at what I do, I want to have a successful career playing college football while obtaining a great education.
The biggest obstacle that I have had to over come, was freshman year in high school I was injured in a game. I tore my meniscus, pulled my MCL and fractured my tibia, I thought I was done with football. When we spoke to the orthopedic surgeon, he informed me that he had played football for Duke, he told me that I was not done, just had a hiccup. I was determined more than ever to heal and come back better, stronger, and faster than ever. My injury taught me the value of teamwork, and sacrifice, I am confidence that I have the talent, character, and work ethic to play for a college team, and be a positive impact to the team. I am looking for a program that not only athletically but also academically is a good fit for me.
