Personal Statement
My parents have taught me from the time I was in grade school the value of setting goals and developing a plan to accomplish them. I'm grateful for those lessons as they have been helpful in developing me into the person I am today. I have been fortunate to have family, friends, team mates, teachers, and coaches that have been and are goal and purpose oriented. In athletics, being a goal oriented individual has helped me be the type of player I need to be to help my teams be successful.
I have several goals I am currently working and several that are more long term. A few goals I am planning to achieve in the near future include, continue to improve my high school grade point average and graduate with a 3.5 GPA in preparation for college acceptance and continue to improve athletically and be offered an opportunity to play college football. I am committed to having success in my college studies and earn a bachelors degree in business administration, and helping the college football team I am playing for accomplish its goals and purpose. After college football, I plan to pursue a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).
My dad once asked me to describe myself in ten words or less. I couldn't do it for the longest time because I thought he was looking for the perfect sentence, but he wasn't. Through a few more discussions with him, this is what I came up with. I am: committed, trustworthy, driven, ambitious, fearless, honest, selfless, humble, loyal, and focused. To look at the list, it seems like a few words thrown together, but my dad's interest in helping me achieve this description has real meaning.
I'm looking for a college football team that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the work-ethic, and character to make an immediate impact. I know that I have what it takes to be a positive example, and leader on a team!
