Personal Statement
I am a 6'1" quarterback that graduated from (class aaa) Nicholas County High School in Summersville, WV. I would like to say first, that, I like to compete! Currently I am working out 4 days a week (very intense) at the HITS Center in Huntington WV where I'm currently enrolled in college as a full time student. We finished our season at Nicholas County in 2010 with a record of 9-2. As of 11-15-10-- I was 105-of-176 on passing, 1,429 yards, 21 TDs, 4 interceptions; 109 carries, 352 yards, 10 Tds; defensive TD ; also 7 interceptions on defense at safety. In June 2011, I attended the All American Bowl in Kings Mtn. N.C. where I was QB of the blue team and was named MVP of the bowl game. I was also selected as a Kennedy Award candidate (award given to the best high school football player in WV)--it is an honor to even be considered. I led my team to a 9-2 season in 2009 and #8 ranking which is the best record in school history, along with 23 touchdowns which is also believed to be a school record.I'm always focused on winning games one game at a time. I would love to play at the next level and love the game. I believe I am capable of playing division I/Iaa football as an athlete. I also enjoy the challenge of being a leader. My family is supportive - my dad (who played DB @ Univ. of Ky. & also a few years in NFL) has instilled an old school/hard work ethics to playing football, at any level. I believe that I have what it takes to prepare for games and work hard. My focus in football has always been to win games first. I have attended camps at Marshall, UK, WVU,Pittsburgh FBU, WKU, Glenville State and Blue Chip in Mars Hill, NC. I enjoy playing baseball also--my senior season was successful with a .526 batting avg. and honorable mention class aaa All State Infielder. I hope to have a college degree regardless of my future in football. I'm planning on majoring in Business or Finance. Thanks for taking the time read my personal statement.
