I am a very caring, compassionate, and competitive individual. All of these great qualities have been developed since I was a baby. My parents have taught me and are very supportive of me. They also have pushed me to be the best I can be. My athletic coaches have also influenced my drive and desire to succeed. I am also very strong in my Christian faith, which helped to develop me into the person I am today. I became interested in football since I was in 1st grade, it only developed and grew stronger when I started tackle football in 3rd grade. I have dreamed of playing at the college level and also pro level since the 3rd grade. I always insisted on a pickup game of football during our recess and free time at school. My Dad and I always sit down on Sundays to watch the pro games, we talk about plays and situations, and what can be improved or what I can do in that situation. I have learned that while playing football for many years, and being moved from position to position, that I am very good at multiple positions and I adapt well.
My academic goals for high school include doing the best I can to reach a 3.25 GPA or above, my academic goal for College will be to get and maintain a 3.33 GPA. It has not been easy for me to get where I am today. I played running back on my 7th and 8th grade teams, so the constant beating on my body had wore my body down, but through weightlifting and conditioning I have come through fine. My Freshman season, I hurt my shoulder in practice and worked my way through to get better. I was not a lock for the tight end spot, I had to battle an upperclassman for the position and won each week, proving that I belonged on the team. My unique characteristics of my position are being big and fast for my position, I have developed my hands over the years and have some of the best hands on the team. I am trying to learn discipline on the field, by challenging myself during practice. If I miss a catch during practice I will do 10 push-ups and then continue. I have not dropped many balls in my career, and pride myself on doing so.
