My mom and grandmother have raised me my whole life and my mom has worked her butt off to get us to where we are today. My mother has made me the man I am and I owe her everything. I grew up calling my sisters dad my dad and he was my father figure for most of my life. I started playing football in 6th grade because I was fast and strong and I thought I would be good at it. The main reason I wanted to play is because my sisters dad played in the NFL and I looked up to him. Donald Driver was my favorite player when I was young. Watching him on TV inspired me. Before I played contact football I actually played with Donald Drivers son on a flag football team along with my best friend Taejon Richard and from that moment on I have had a love for the game. Playing football has taught me that I will do whatever it takes to be the best player that I can be. There really is no greater feeling than coming back to win a game when the odds are stacked against you, everybody thinks you will lose, and yet you prove them wrong. Football has also taught me that you cannot doubt yourself because if you do, you will never get to where you want to be. I like to show people what I can do. You are the only one that can limit yourself and your greatness. My academic goal for high school is to get my grade point average up so that I graduate with a 3.3 or higher. I struggled a bit my Freshman year, but have been working hard since then to be a better me. I am not sure what I would like to study in college yet, but I do know that I would like to graduate with at least a 3.7 and play football while studying. An obstacle I had to overcome was being looked at as one of the worst players on the team in middle school and thinking I was bad at football, but luckily I worked hard and stopped letting people define who I am. One characteristic I possess is that I am not easily provoked or angered on or off the football field. Therefore, other players can't get in my head, and when they try I just laugh at them like they are a joke. I also encourage my teammates as much as I can when in a game or when we are struggling to get the job done. If you want something bad enough and you give it 110% you can achieve greatness.
