“Play hard, Train harder”- Ed Cosner. This is a quote that I have always lived by. From a young age I was constantly told that I was and would be too small to be successful in football. When I was first told this I didn’t want to believe it was true but then reality hit me, and I decided to prove them wrong. This is what kickstarted my hard work ethic and never-give-up mentality. I started to train as much as I could and in my first two years of high school I broke two different weight lifting records in my weight class, a 315 pound squat and 205 pound power clean. Then later it all payed off when, as a sophomore, my highschool team went undefeated and won the conference championship. This although was a short lived victory because in the quarter finals my team lost, by only one point. This was a pain I never wanted to feel again, this experience gave me even more drive than I ever had before.
These few experiences taught me the true value of hard work and dedication. This is why I feel that it is very important to find a school that is a great fit for me academically and athletically. Because of this I am willing to work hard and be a great teammate, as well as an even better student. I know I have the skills and the drive to be a leader of any team, as well as the dedication to be a valued member in any athletic program.
